Dearest Darling Everyone,
Well, doesn't it seem like the world is falling apart? It feels pretty wild, even for someone like myself, who does not have a nickel in a hedge fund, derivative or stock market-type anything.
Today, I read as much bad news as I could stand, then headed in to town to take a breather and have a piece of pizza pie at a fine pizza-pie-making establishment(Backroad Pizza, Santa Fe), and then to eat a small yet exquisite piece of the best chocolate I could find (Chocolatesmith). I am now noticing what a lovely day it is, and how many fine friends I have, with whom I can chat it up. So far, my blessings today are adding up to a really high number, more than 700 bazillion even. I am ever so grateful I can count higher than the feds.
Until I can figure out how to setup separate blogs for all my work and adventures, I am planning to cover a lot of ground on this here blog-spot. Barbara Mayfield Media will chat it up about writing and performing comedy for stage and radio, writing kids' literature, being a movie star - which is so incredibly fun - and puppeteering: The Stark Raving Beauties®, my alter-egos who are the beloved members of my one-woman comedic performance troupe, will be chiming in, as they are terrifically opinionated. Of course, my Movie-Star Self will share her tips about show biz in How To Be A Movie Star 101. For Mrs. Iptweet fans, the details about the publication of my award-winning novel for the 8-to-12 year-old set, The Magical Mrs. Iptweet and Me, will be revealed here. Have I mentioned my newest gig as co-host on the Gotta Dance radio program on 101.1 KSFR? More on that next time.
Not to worry, I'll be covering PR, Publicity and Media Relations ground, too.
My media relations biz, formerly known as Get the Word Out, Publicity for Authors, has expanded into Barbara Mayfield Media, providing PR/publicity, coaching & consulting, and media training to individuals, businesses and groups. Feel free to email PR questions.
Today's PR tip: No matter how many people show up at your event, remember that you are presenting to those fine folks and every single person they know. It's important to treat every audience, whether 3 people or 300, as if they are gold. Because they are.
Thank you for your kind attention, Barbara
